IMPORTERS

Viñateros is brought to you by...

266 offers wines of provenance from makers who are passionate about the land they work. To us this means wines that express themselves and their origins openly through the guiding hand of a sympathetic and skilful maker. We have depth in small French estates, particularly Champagne. We also represent a selection of pioneering Californian and Spanish wineries.

The terroirs of Northern Spain are of particular interest to us, with a portfolio that tends towards wines with vibrant acidity and detailed flavours that refresh rather than overwhelm the palate. We are excited by the potential of site specific wines from the more varied terroirs around the northern reaches of the Rioja DOC and the Basque country in particular, but also Ribeira Sacra with it’s steep granite and schist slopes. We expect to add more wineries from these regions to our portfolio over the coming year.

Spain is very much in our blood; from the sun bleached beaches of the Costa de la Luz in the south to the rocky corners of Galicia we love hunting out obscure vineyards and heretical growers. With childlike enthusiasm we engage with those exciting Viticultors that have sprung up throughout the country, combining their sense of enquiry, their innate pride in where they come from and their desire to share this passion with the wider world.

Dynamic Vines was founded in 2005 by Frederic Grappe, who has built the company into the exclusive supplier of over 60 top producers to the UK market. We work with winemakers who produce outstanding wines using sustainable practices in the vineyard and minimal intervention in the cellar. They produce wines with a sense of place and that speak of where they come from.

Carte Blanche Wines was founded in 2009 to import ecologically minded, terroir-focused, wine growers. We research each region we work in and over time select the grower we feel best reflects our tastes and ethos. Curiosity informs a lot of what we do, and we represent styles of wines that not only reflect the terroir expression that makes a wine unique, but also drinkablity, an oft under-rated aspect of wine these days. Our office is based in Monmouth in South Wales, but we distribute wine, via LCB, to over 180 of the UK’s finest hotels, restaurants, and wine merchants. If you would like to find out more or receive a CBW portfolio, please get in touch, we are always happy to hear from new and enthusiastic wine lovers.

Fields, Morris & Verdin has evolved through organic growth and strategic acquisition from a small agency and retail wine business to become one of the UK’s foremost wine importers and distributors serving the UK restaurant and retail trades. From our earliest days we have worked with family owned wineries, whose wines have a distinct sense of place and whose family members see themselves as custodians of a legacy for future generations. This long term focus and desire to work with the best and not necessarily the most fashionable has led to the unique portfolio we have today.

H2Vin is passionate about bringing authentic, artisan wines to wine lovers. We work hard to uncover under-the-radar gems, which are some of the finest examples of their region and style, notably from France and Spain complemented by equally exceptional producers from around the globe. We pride ourselves on working mainly with smaller, family-owned wineries that are passionate about producing wines with a true sense of identity, including some of the best wines of the Loire and the Rhône.

Bea and Diego we established Iberiandrinks in the UK since 2012. We specialise mainly in Spanish wines, from emerging small viñateros across the different regions, local grapes, climates and soils. That source of exciting wines is based in the sustainability, avoiding chemicals in the vineyard and made in an artisan way in the cellar. We work along with the winemakers releasing new projects together. We have chosen Spanish wines because we believe that the country is experiencing a wine renaissance scene. Our Portfolio is represented in exclusivity by us in England and by Pago Wines in Scotland and Wales.

Indigo Wine seeks out unique and artisanal wines from all around the world. We’re best known for sourcing fresh and balanced wines from Spain, particularly from producers in lesser-known regions, who work with indigenous varieties. There’s been a quiet revolution in Spain over the last 10-15 years, young winemakers have worked around the world and returned to Spain energised. They’re rediscovering their home terroir and native grapes with new skills and confidence, and the resulting wines are a revelation. We work hard to find talented growers who are committed to making real, honest, and above all, delicious wines. They are the true heroes of the wine world.

Justerini & Brooks Logo_edited.png

For more than 270 years, Justerini & Brooks has looked after the needs of the discerning customer seeking top quality wine, expertise and personal service. With over three thousand wines from the world’s greatest Chateaux, Estates and Domaines, Justerinis’ portfolio offers an unrivalled selection. Our Spanish portfolio is an ever-evolving and important range of wines that, whilst respecting the classical nature of Rioja and Ribera del Duero, also seeks to unlock and discover a whole host of new and exciting, terroir-driven producers from all over the country. In that spirit, our buyers are increasingly just as likely to be found on the steep schist slopes of Priorat, in the wild Gredos mountains or travelling along Spain’s dramatic Galician coastline, as they are to be found in Burgundy’s Cote d’Or or Germany’s Mosel Valley. Exceptional terroir and quality wines remain our guiding principles. Spain has both in abundance.

Les Caves de Pyrène, a wine importer, distributor and agent, was founded in 1988.  Initially it was four people, a battered van and a small handful of wines from South West France. Despite our subsequent growth, our philosophy remains the same as it did from the beginning: to source the best quality wines directly from the grower and the vineyard; that these wines should reflect where they come from (the expression of “terroir”); that these wines should be sustainable, with low intervention and preferably organic or biodynamic. Having started with one Rioja way back when, we now ship from around 40 different Spanish producers from 22 regions, most of them small artisan farmers and winemakers.

modal-wines-centering.jpg

Modal Wines is a UK importer of small-production, distinctive wines grown and produced with love and respect.
Modal scales in music sit outside the more common and ordinary major and minor scales - out of the many parallels between music and wine, this particular concept beautifully illustrates our aim at Modal Wines: to source unique wines with the right mix of edge, character, balance, and drinkability.  A deep-rooted respect for nature unites all the producers in our portfolio, whose wines are made with as little interference in the vineyards and cellar as possible. Though we are by no means a Spanish specialist, we continue to expand our concise and carefully curated selection, now featuring wines from Priorat, Montsant, Penedes, Emporda, Ribeira Sacra, Navarra, La Palma (Canary Islands), and Conca de Barberà.

We source, import, sell and distribute the finest wines from France and Northern Spain.

Our aim is to inspire a more progressive, sustainable and open-minded approach to wine, one that cares about the land and the people, eschews the use of chemicals and keeps prices fair. And we believe that none of this is possible without taking some risks. Right from the start in summer 1989, Vine Trail has been about taking punts, when Nick Brookes financed the first list of 27 wines on the back of winning bets from horse racing. Pushing boundaries and taking risks defines us, it’s in our blood and bones.

Vine Trail has always rowed against the crowd and fashion, championing the maverick, chiselling out wines from top vignerons in overlooked regions like Jura and Savoie, being the first in the UK to promote growers’ champagnes as well as revealing the artisanal face of Bordeaux.

We like to focus and build up expertise, working for almost 30 years exclusively with French vignerons we are now also applying our savoir-faire to Northern Spain and its Atlantic influenced vineyards. Incredibly fine, biodiverse, and untamed terroirs, a cool climate often combined with mountain viticulture, wines with freshness, lower alcohol and a clear mineral print, all these factors draw a real parallel with several of our favourite French regions.
